Parent's Information
School Day
9.10 a.m. – 1.50 p.m. for Infants
9.10 a.m. – 2.50 p.m. First to Sixth Class
The school is open to receive pupils from 9.00 pm. The Board of Management do not accept responsibility for children dropped off before this time.
Lunch
The school has a Healthy Lunch Policy. Sandwiches, fruit, yoghurt and a drink (non- fizzy) make a healthy lunch. Please choose a lunch box that your child can open easily.
Home School Communication
We value the importance of home/school communication and endeavour to communicate with parents through Aladdin Connect, email, our website and social media pages.
Parent-teacher meetings are held annually. If your child is experiencing a particular problem at any stage please telephone and arrange to meet the teacher.
Discipline
Children are expected to have respect for their teachers and fellow pupils and to show this by good behaviour in the classroom, corridor and playground. Parents/ Guardians will be requested to sign the school’s Code of Behaviour.
Homework
Homework is given to children from Monday to Thursday. Teachers will communicate nightly homework with parents using the school diary or homework folder for junior and senior infants. Expected alloted time is dependent on class level. If your child experiences difficulty with homework please contact your child's class teacher.
Ways to Help the School
We are very appreciative of the support which parents/guardians give to the school and to the school’s various activities. We encourage you to:
Take an active part in the Parent’s Association.
Read the messages/emails sent from the school.
Check homework nightly.
Return forms promptly.
Contact class teacher/principal if you have any concerns re. school.
Be positive in your attitude to school and schoolwork.
